Year 7 2026 -
The Journey starts here

In order to prepare for the arrival of our newest CBC Gentlemen, it is important that we are provided with any up-to-date information that may help us to further understand your son and his needs. We aim to make every boy's transition into high school as smooth and welcoming as possible so that he has the best start to his CBC Journey! 20250204-img_1350.jpg

Please contact Registrar Emma Polain via email enrol@cbcfremantle.wa.edu.au  should contact details or other information pertaining to your son's education change prior to Term 4 2025.

Orientation Day – Monday 8 December 2025

All new Year 7 students are invited to attend from 8:30am to 3:00pm at CBC Fremantle.

For Students:

  • Arrive: Between 8.00am- 8.15am in the Gym and go to your Head of House to sign in.
  • Wear: CBC House shirt and sports shorts (or House-coloured shirt if uniform not yet purchased).
  • Bring: Recess, water bottle, and a hat, both labelled with name.
  • Lunch: Sausage sizzle and drink provided (If you are concerned about allergies, please feel free to bring your own lunch).
  • Haircut: On Orientation Day, students will have their photos taken for Smartriders and SEQTA ID before the commencement of the 2026 school year.  We strongly encourage boys to have a 'CBC haircut' in preparation for Orientation Day. A CBC haircut is short (off the ears, off the collar and out of the eyes, if they can tuck their fringe behind their ears, it's too long), neat, and not shaved below a number 3.  Any difference in hair length needs to be blended in rather than a radical length change. If this cannot be done for Orientation Day, it is a requirement for Day 1 of Term 1 that haircuts are appropriate to commence the school year.

For Parents:

  • Parents are requested to stay for the first part of the day until 10:00am.
  • During this time, parents will receive important information and have the opportunity to meet key staff.
  • Parents are welcome to stay for morning tea afterwards.

Year 7 Mathematics Streams
Mathematics streams have now been emailed to parents to assist with selecting the correct items on the book list.
Initial class placements are determined using academic reports and assessment data. Our Mathematics streams are flexible and regularly reviewed, with students able to move between streams throughout the year based on their most recent performance.
If a student is required to change textbooks due to a stream adjustment (such as moving into or out of the Extension program), the College holds a number of spare copies. These can be exchanged to ensure families do not incur additional costs.

Functional Literacy Intervention Program (FLIP)
Parents of students participating in the Functional Literacy Intervention Program (FLIP) have already been notified. As FLIP replaces the Italian Language course in their timetable, these students will not be required to purchase any Italian stationery items.
If you have not been contacted, your son will be studying Italian in Year 7 and will require the items listed on the booklist.

Consent-To-Go

CBC Fremantle uses Consent-To-Go for permission for camps and excursions as well as updating medical information. Year 7 2026 parents will have received an email from mcbschools.com containing a Consent-To-Go link in early Term 4. Please email enrol@cbcfremantle.wa.edu.au if you have not received this link.

Fees

School Fee Statements are issued in mid February each year.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

From 2026, Health Care Card* holders will receive a 50% discount on the tuition fee only for each student. This financial assistance will be applicable to new and current students, and must be applied for annually.
