Amazing Academic Excellence evening

Amazing Academic Excellence evening

Radio students kept the crowd entertained with a live broadcast at the event.

Engaging and interactive exhibits  wowed parents and visitors at the Academic Excellence Showcase on Wednesday, but it was the students who were the real stars of the evening.

AEP encompasses seven different activities, complementing the College's curriculum and providing students with challenges in the communication areas of Radio, Debating, Creative Writing and Literature & Media, as well as the STEM hot topics, Maths & Engineering, Science & Technology, and Robotics.

Radio students hosted a live show at the event, showing their skills on the microphone and technical wizardry with the broadcasting equipment, and Maths & Engineering students showed off their remote control cars.

Debating students passionately argued on the topic on whether organ donation should be compulsory, as Robotics students showed off their latest creations.

Science & Technology students readily answered questions about their solar powered cars, as parents listened to award-winning prose from Year 7 Creative Writing students on laptops and headphones.

Information was also available about the programme's very popular tours to Canberra and the United States.

Parents were impressed by the passion and commitment of boys involved in the programme, which is designed to keep boys engaged in their studies beyond the content covered in the classroom.
